In New Zealand, if you are on a phone call to someone else, you may record that call. Except in special circumstances (e.g. if you are a member of a profession with a specific ethical code that requires disclosure, or if specific contractual provisions apply), you are not required to disclose the fact that you are recording. You are not allowed to record a phone call if you are not part of that call.
However, in most cases it may be beneficial to tell the other party that you are recording the call as a way to ensure a more profession discussion.
To record your call using the College Phone system, you need to have MXIE installed on your computer, and you need to have MXIE logged in and 'bound' to your telephone handset.
While on a phone call, simply click on the 'tape' icon on the call status window. This will start recording, and will send the entire phone conversation to your email at the end of the call.
