To pair a Bluetooth headset, speaker, or other audio device
-
Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and make it discoverable. The way you make it discoverable depends on the device. Check the device or visit the manufacturer's website to learn how. If you have a Grandstream bluetooth headset, you may need to charge the headset for 20 minutes before you can pair it. Put the headset on the charging dock and allow it to charge for 20 minutes. Once it is on, use the power OFF/ON switch to slide the switch to the ON position. Sliding the slider all the way across will activate the 'Discover bluetooth' function. When the device is in Bluetooth Discovery mode, the lights should flash blue.
-
On your PC, select Start>Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other device>Bluetooth. Choose the device and follow additional instructions if they appear, then select Done.
-
Your Bluetooth device and PC will usually automatically connect anytime the two devices are in range of each other with Bluetooth turned on.
Selecting a sound device in MS Teams
MS Teams allows you to select which device you want to use to make calls. Teams will prioritise the headset over the computer speakers, but you can override this. To select or to check which device Teams will use for calls, go to Teams -> Settings -> Devices
If your Teams is set to use your headset, then you may not always hear your call ringing if you are not wearing the headset. To resolve this problem, you can select a secondary ringer in Teams. Go to Settings ->Devices. Scroll down to secondary ringer and select a different sound device on your computer, such as the computer speakers.
Troubleshooting sound problems in Teams
When I answer a Teams call, the sound comes through my computer speakers.
Check that your Teams device settings are set to use your bluetooth headset. Go to Teams -> Settings -> Devices. Set the audio devices to use the headset.
I cant hear my Teams ringing when i receive a call
Set up a secondary ringer in Teams -> Settings -> Devices.
You should set this to use your computer speakers. For this to work, your computer speakers need to be unmuted, and the volume needs to be up. You can check the volume is up by playing audio from another source (such as Clickview or Youtube to make sure the sound comes through your speakers)
Check that your speakers are set to use your computer speakers, and that the volume is set.
