When you print from Synergetic on the Remote Desktop Server (RDS), you need to have the default printer set to the printer you want to print to, as there is no option in Synergetic to select a printer.
Before you open Synergetic on the RDS Server, be sure to set up a printer and set it as the default.
You need to do this from your RDS Session as it is a personal setting for each staff member.
To install a new printer on the RDS Server
1. Open your RDS session, then…
2.Click on the 'Printers' icon on the Desktop
3. . You will see your installed printers list. Double click on the printer you wish to set as the default. Click on Add a device
A window will be displayed showing all of the printers in the College. Search through the list until you find your printer. These are named starting with the building and then the location. eg. HunterWorkroom
4. You will see a confirmation window once the printer is installed. You will have the option to set the printer as default. You will need to do this if you are printing crystal reports from Synergetic.
Changing your Default Printer
You can easily change your default printer in the Remote Desktop server. Click on the 'Printers' icon on the desktop. You will see a list of your installed printers.
You can either right-click (on a mac, click with two fingers) and select the option 'Set as Default Printer'
Alternatively, click on the printer, and then click 'see whats printing' from the top menu. The Printer window will open, then click on 'Printer -> Set as Default Printer'
